About the Role
Manager, Global & Technical Accounting
The Manager, Global & Technical Accounting, has a critical role in overseeing and managing the financial activities of the international subsidiaries and joint ventures, including managing the day-to-day accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting, while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and standards. This position will also have an integral part in assisting in setting up new international entities. The position will report to the Corporate Controller and work closely with the Manager, Corporate Accounting, as well as other stakeholders within the company to ensure the financial integrity and optimization of the Company’s international subsidiaries and joint ventures.

Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Reporting
  • Oversee accounting operations: Manage the day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, and payroll of the company’s international subsidiaries and joint ventures which involves communicating and managing the external accounting teams.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other financial analyses. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information to internal and external stakeholders related to the company’s international subsidiaries and joint ventures.
  • Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with relevant US and International accounting standards, regulations, and tax requirements. Coordinate and oversee internal and external audits for the company’s international subsidiaries and joint ventures and implement any necessary changes to maintain compliance.
Budgeting & Planning
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Working with the FP&A Team, complete the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts for the company’s international subsidiaries and joint ventures. Monitor actual results against budgets and forecasts and provide insightful analysis to support decision-making by working with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review, report trends, and conduct analyses from the international subsidiary and join venture financial statements, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statements, and Key Financial Ratios.
Other
  • New Entity Creation: Responsible for assisting in all new international subsidiary and joint venture creation, including organizational structure, researching tax implications, opening new bank accounts, as well as other duties.
  • Manage (Internal and External) Accounting Staff: Recruit, train, and supervise accounting staff, ensuring their professional development and the achievement of performance objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • CPA highly desirable with a strong technical background
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with 3-5 years in a managerial role
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with International Subsidiaries and Joint Ventures, preferably involving the UK, Australia, and/or India
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry or engineering services industry, highly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations, including GAAP, IFRS, and tax compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly explain financial information to non-finance professionals.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and related technologies, such as ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, as well as advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple/competing priorities
